How Does a Run of 99 Nights in the Forest Work?

A run of 99 Nights in the Forest splits into day and night: you gather and build while it’s light, then hold the camp once it gets dark. Every night you survive pushes the day counter forward, and the run is a win when that counter reaches 99. Lose the campfire, or the whole team, and it’s over.

PhaseWhat you’re doingWhy it matters
DaytimeChop trees for logs, grab food and scrap, open chestsLogs feed the fire and scrap feeds the crafting bench
Campfire upgradesBurn fuel until the fire’s bar fills and it levels upEach level lights up more of the map and opens the next kid’s area
Crafting bench upgradesSpend scrap on bench levels, then on beds, tools and defensesBetter gear and beds make every later night easier
NighttimeStay near the light, fight off wolves and cultists, keep the fire fedThe Deer hunts anyone it catches in the dark
RescuesClear a guarded cave and bring a missing kid back to campEach rescue makes more days pass per night, so you reach 99 faster

Your most important tool after the axe is a flashlight. Any flashlight stuns the Deer for a few seconds, which is usually enough to break a chase and sprint back to the campfire, where it won’t follow.

Pro tip: the Deer only watches on Night 1. It won’t attack yet, so that first night is free time: keep chopping and push the campfire up a level or two instead of hiding at camp.

Who Are the Four Missing Kids in 99 Nights in the Forest?

The four missing kids are Dino Kid, Kraken Kid, Squid Kid and Koala Kid, and most players rescue them in that order because each one unlocks at a higher campfire level. Every kid sits in a cave guarded by animals, and the guards get tougher with each rescue, from wolves at the start to bears at the end.

Rescuing them isn’t only about the story. Each kid you bring home makes extra days pass every night, and since the Kids Have Jobs update on August 8, 2026, all four can be befriended and leveled up to help around camp. The catch, according to the community, is that the Deer gets more aggressive as you go, so don’t rush the third and fourth rescues with weak gear. Our guide on how to survive 99 Nights in the Forest walks through the early rescues step by step.

Does 99 Nights in the Forest Have Codes?

Yes. Three 99 Nights in the Forest codes work as of October 22, 2026, and together they give 45 Diamonds plus a few random Flames. We tested each one in the game ourselves. You’ll find the codes, the redeem steps and the expired list on our 99 Nights in the Forest codes page.

What Are Classes and How Do You Unlock Them?

Classes are starting builds you pick before a run, and you unlock them with Diamonds in the lobby. Each class changes your perks and the role you play in the team, which is why Diamonds are the one currency worth saving. The New Classes update on September 5, 2026 added more of them, along with daily quests and fire offerings.

Before you spend a single Diamond, check our 99 Nights in the Forest class tier list, so your first unlock is one you’ll still be using a month from now.

What’s Happening in 99 Nights in the Forest Right Now?

Halloween is live in 99 Nights in the Forest. The official Trick or Treat Part 1 event started on October 17, 2026, and its event window closes on October 24 at 12:00 UTC (5 a.m. PT), while Halloween content stays in the game through October 31. You find costume pieces, knock on decorated houses at night for Candy, and spend it at Happy’s shop in the lobby. The two event pets cost 200 Candy (Vampire Alpha Wolf) and 80 Candy (Candy Corn Bunny).

The community expects more Halloween parts, but as of October 22 the official event list on Roblox doesn’t show a Part 2 yet. Here’s how 2026 has gone so far, using the developer’s own event dates:

  1. June 13: The Forest Wakes Up brings the game back to updates every two weeks, plus 8 new badges.
  2. August 8: Kids Have Jobs lets all four kids work for your camp.
  3. August 22: Biome Refresher evens out the loot in the weaker biomes.
  4. September 5: New Classes adds classes, daily quests and fire offerings.
  5. September 19: a 2x Diamond Weekend celebrates the game winning Best Survival Game at the Roblox Innovation Awards 2026.
  6. October 3: Helping Happy, the pre-Halloween quest to put Happy back together.
  7. October 17: Trick or Treat Part 1.

The Deer is also out of the forest this month: it’s the first of the nine monsters in Roblox’s own Halloween event, and our The Hollow event guide tracks it night by night.

Is There a 99 Nights in the Forest Movie?

Yes, one is in the works. 20th Century Studios picked up the film rights to 99 Nights in the Forest in April 2026, and no release date has been announced. The game has also crossed over beyond Roblox, showing up as one of Fortnite’s collaborations this fall.

Heads up: sites that sell 99 Nights Diamonds or accounts for real money break Roblox’s rules, and “auto-farm” scripts get accounts banned. Diamonds only come from playing, badges, codes and the official shop inside the game.
