Adopt Me! Guide: Eggs, Neon Pets, Trading and the Weekly Schedule

Updated Halloween 2026Verified on the official Adopt Me! page on Roblox

Adopt Me! is Uplift Games’ pet-raising game on Roblox: you hatch eggs, raise each pet from Newborn to Full Grown, fuse four of the same pet into a Neon and trade with other players to fill out your collection. It has been on Roblox since July 2017, and at 7:07 p.m. PT on October 22, 2026, 165,357 people were playing it.

It looks like a cozy pet sim, but there’s a real economy underneath. Limited eggs leave the shop for good, retired pets only move through trades and something new drops every single week. This page covers the parts that matter when you’re getting started: which egg to save for, how Neons work, how to trade without getting burned and when updates actually land. What Should You Do in Your First Hour of Adopt Me?

Hatch the free Starter Egg, take care of that pet and let its needs pay for your next egg. In Adopt Me!, caring for pets is the whole engine: every need you fill earns Bucks and counts as a task toward your pet’s next age.

  1. Hatch your Starter Egg. You get it the first time you join, and it hatches after three tasks.
  2. Fill your pet’s needs as they pop up: food, drink, sleep, a bath, a trip somewhere. Each one pays Bucks.
  3. Open the Task Board for daily tasks that pay Bucks plus a rotating prize, sometimes an egg.
  4. Claim your daily login reward. Since September 11, 2026, each eligible day also adds a Star you can spend in Star Rewards.
  5. Spend your first Bucks on an egg from the Nursery (the table below shows which one).
  6. Pass the Trade License test in the Safety Hub before you trade anything rare.

Common mistake: blowing your first Bucks on furniture and house upgrades. They don’t earn anything back. Pets and eggs are what grow your account, so decorate once you have a few pets aging up.

Which Adopt Me Egg Is Worth Your Bucks?

If you’re chasing Legendaries, the Royal Egg is the best deal in Adopt Me!, even though it’s the most expensive egg in the Nursery. At 1,450 Bucks with an 8% Legendary chance, it averages about 18,125 Bucks per Legendary, while the cheap Cracked Egg averages over 23,000.

EggPriceLegendary chanceAverage Bucks per LegendaryBest for
Cracked Egg350 Bucks1.5%~23,333Cheap pets to age up for Neons
Pet Egg600 Bucks3%~20,000A middle ground, 15% Ultra-Rare
Royal Egg1,450 Bucks8%~18,125Legendary hunting, no Commons at all
Fairytale Egg (limited)750 Bucks3% (1.5% each for two Legendaries)~25,000Collecting the current limited set before it retires

Prices and odds are the ones shown on the Nursery boards. The averages are our own math (price divided by Legendary chance), so real results swing a lot either way.

Verdict: save for Royal Eggs if you want a Legendary from the permanent pool, such as the Ancient Dragon or Alicorn. Buy the Fairytale Egg if you care about its ten storybook pets, because limited eggs leave the Gumball Machine after a few months and then their pets are trade-only.

The Fairytale Egg replaced the Endangered Egg in the Nursery’s Gumball Machine on August 29, 2026. Its two Legendaries are Huntsman Robin and Three Blind Mice, a three-in-one pet.

How Do You Make a Neon or Mega Neon Pet in Adopt Me?

Put four Full Grown pets of the same kind on the four glowing circles in the Neon Cave and they fuse into one Neon pet. Do it again with four fully aged Neons of that pet and you get a Mega Neon, which cycles through colors. That’s 16 regular pets for a single Mega Neon.

Neon pets restart at the bottom with their own set of age names, and each stage takes the same number of tasks as the regular version:

Regular pet ageNeon pet age
NewbornReborn
JuniorTwinkle
Pre-TeenSparkle
TeenFlare
Post-TeenSunshine
Full GrownLuminous

Higher rarities need more tasks per stage, which is why a Neon Legendary is such a grind. An Age-Up Potion skips 30 tasks at once, and Fly or Ride abilities carry over when you fuse. A handful of pets can’t go Neon at all, including the Pet Rock, Scoob and Pumpkin.

Pro tip: make your first Neon from a Common or Uncommon pet. You learn the whole process on a pet that ages fast, and four Full Grown Commons are easy to collect from Cracked Eggs or cheap trades.

How Does Trading Work in Adopt Me?

You trade through the game’s trade window, but you need a Trade License before you can trade Ultra-Rare or Legendary pets. You earn it by passing a short test in the Safety Hub on Adoption Island: three trade scenarios, and you call each one safe or a scam.

The license also shows your trade history from the last 30 days and lets you report scammers. There’s no official price list for pets. Values come from what players are willing to give, which is why retired and limited pets climb over time and why the same Neon can be worth very different things a few months apart.

Heads up: never “trust trade,” meaning you hand over a pet first and wait for the other player to send theirs. Keep every trade inside the trade window and read both sides before you accept. Swapping Adopt Me! pets for Robux, gift cards or real money, or buying pets from outside sites, breaks Roblox’s rules and has zero protection when it goes wrong.

Does Adopt Me Have Codes Right Now?

No. No Adopt Me! codes are working as of October 22, 2026. Uplift Games only releases a handful of codes a year, usually around milestones and live events, and the most recent one the community tracked, PROUDFROG for a Proud Frog sticker, ran from June 6 to June 19, 2026.

When a new code does show up, you redeem it at the Code Redemption Kiosk next to Agent Ruhi inside the Safety Hub, the same building as the Trade License test. Most past codes gave short 2x Bucks and XP boosts, with the occasional vehicle or sticker. Our Roblox codes page lists every game that has working codes today.

When Does Adopt Me Update Each Week?

Adopt Me! updates every Friday at about 8 a.m. PT (11 a.m. ET), and two smaller events repeat every week around it. All three show up on the game’s official Roblox event calendar, which is where the times below come from.

DayTime (PT / ET)What happens
Tuesday4 to 5 p.m. PT / 7 to 8 p.m. ET2D Tuesday: a temporary 2D Kitty doubles your Bucks and XP for the hour, and finishing 20 of its needs earns a 2D Box
FridayAbout 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ETWeekly update goes live and runs until the next Friday
Saturday9 to 9:30 a.m. PT / noon to 12:30 p.m. ETAdmin Abuse: the developers join servers with boosts, freebies and random chaos

Admin Abuse has run every Saturday since November 1, 2025, and it’s one of the easiest ways to pick up free items, since the developers hand out boosts, Bucks and boxes during the half hour. The community also reports extra 2D Tuesday sessions earlier in the day, but the official calendar only lists the afternoon one. If you want a reminder, the Adopt Me! page on Roblox has a Notify button, and Uplift posts a countdown to the next update on its own site.

What’s New in Adopt Me Right Now?

Halloween 2026 is the big one. It started on October 3 with a live Admin Abuse launch and has added new pets and minigames every Friday since. The current week is Stitches’ Spotlight at the Carnival, and the fourth and final week, Where Bear? Returns, is set to go live on October 23 at 8 a.m. PT according to Uplift’s official countdown.

Uplift hasn’t posted an exact end time. The official event calendar closes the Week 4 window on October 30 at 8:45 a.m. PT, so treat that as your deadline for Candy Corn pets. Our Adopt Me! Halloween 2026 guide has every pet, its price and how the Crypt works.

Two changes from earlier this fall are still worth knowing. The Fairytale Egg arrived on August 29, and on September 11 Uplift refreshed Star Rewards so every eligible daily login pays Bucks plus a Star. The two big savings goals there are the Royal Fairytale Egg at 14 Stars and the Gemstone Egg at 28 Stars.

Adopt Me! FAQ

Is Adopt Me! free to play?

Yes. Adopt Me! is free, and you can earn Bucks, eggs and pets without spending anything. Robux only buys optional extras such as certain pets, boosts and the Hatch Now pass.

How many players fit in an Adopt Me! server?

An Adopt Me! server holds 35 players, according to the game’s official Roblox listing.

What is the rarest pet in Adopt Me!?

The community usually puts the Mega Neon Bat Dragon at the top, with the Mega Neon Shadow Dragon close behind. Both come from old events, so trading is the only way to get one now.

Can you still get retired Adopt Me! pets?

Yes, but only by trading. Once a limited egg leaves the Gumball Machine or an event ends, its pets stop dropping, so the players who already own them are your only source.

Who made Adopt Me!?

Adopt Me! is made by Uplift Games, a verified Roblox group. The official game description credits NewFissy as Tech Director and Bethink as Creative Director.
