The best weapons in RIVALS right now are the Assault Rifle and Permafrost for your primary, the Exogun and Uzi for your secondary, the Katana and Scythe for melee, and the Medkit and Grenade for utility. What Is the Best Primary Weapon in RIVALS?
The Assault Rifle and Permafrost share the top spot. The Assault Rifle is free, works at every range and sits in your default loadout. Permafrost’s bursts slow whoever you hit, so they can’t run, and its freeze gets around a Katana deflect or a Riot Shield.

The Sniper is the best pick on open maps, where one good headshot ends a round, and the Shotgun owns tight rooms. The Wildcat, added in a recent update, isn’t ranked yet because the tier lists haven’t settled on it.
What Is the Best Secondary in RIVALS?
The Exogun and the Uzi. The Exogun’s splash damage ignores Katana deflects and hits players hiding around corners, and the Uzi is the cheapest upgrade that fixes the free Handgun’s biggest weakness: close-range follow-ups.

What Is the Best Melee Weapon in RIVALS?
The Katana and the Scythe. The Katana’s deflect sends hitscan bullets back and punishes anyone who shoots predictably, while the Scythe’s dash is the best tool in the game for closing a gap or escaping a bad angle.

What Is the Best Utility in RIVALS?
The Medkit and the Grenade. The Medkit keeps you alive through long fights on any map, and the free Grenade flushes enemies out of cover. Everything below them is good on the right map and dead weight on the wrong one.

Is the Free Starter Loadout Good Enough?
Mostly, yes. Two of the four free weapons, the Assault Rifle and the Grenade, are S tier on their own, and the Handgun sits in A. The Fists are the weak link, so your first Keys are best spent on a better melee or on the Uzi. Price never decides a tier on this list: an expensive weapon on the wrong map loses to the free Assault Rifle every time.
Common mistake: saving every Key for the Sniper because it looks the strongest in clips. It’s only A tier, it’s slow up close and it’s useless on small maps. A cheap Uzi or a melee upgrade will win you more duels sooner.
Which RIVALS Weapons Do Tier Lists Disagree On?
A handful of weapons move a lot depending on which list you read, usually because older lists were made before a balance patch:

Did RIVALSWEEN Change the Meta?
Only a little. RIVALSWEEN (Update 24, live until November 7, 2026) buffed the Grenade Launcher, the Shorty and the Spear, and adjusted the Revolver’s quick shot, but it didn’t touch the S-tier weapons.
